Favorite Apps for Artists in 2021

Hello friends!

Many of you have requested recommendations for apps used to maintain social media feeds and mockup generators for online stores. Today I’m listing a few of my favorites at the moment.

I was not paid or endorsed by any of these companies for my opinions.

Here we go!

InShot

What it can do:

Video Editing, Photo Editing, Filters, Effects, Free Music for videos, Sound effects, Voiceovers

Why I love it:

InShot has an intuitive UI that’s easy to master and allows you to create posts quickly with preset canvas sizes built in for most major social media platforms. Video editing, such as voiceovers, transitions, and sticky text are a breeze, even for the inexperienced user.

The free version allows you to edit photos without a watermark, however videos you edit with InShot will have a watermark unless you upgrade to the paid version. On the plus side, this app is fairly inexpensive.

$ Free and Paid

Canva

What it can do:

Everything! Social media posts, presentations, letters, posters, online ads, with hundreds of thousands of free photos and graphics to use.

Why I love it:

Huge catalog of custom templates, branding kits, background removal and animation tools, Cloud storage, Real-time collaboration

——

Is there anything this app can’t do? One of the coolest features is the ability to collaborate and comment in real time. Over 250,000 free templates and 100+ design types to combat just about any project. And the free version even comes with 5gb of cloud storage to store your designs.

If you upgrade to the Pro version, one of the best features is that you can create a branding kit, allowing you to upload your own fonts and logos to drop into any of your designs with just the click of a button. If you’re looking for a way to streamline your branding, this is it.

The Pro version also gives you a content calendar and will schedule your social media content to 7 different platforms. It is one of the pricier apps on the market at the moment, but well worth it in my opinion if you’re using social media to drive your sales.

ArtRooms

What it can do:

Room Mockups, Custom Framing

Why I love it:

ArtRooms is one of the easiest mockup generators to use. They have a variety of quality rooms, updated monthly. Not much in the free version but a fairly straightforward and inexpensive app. If you’re looking to show the scale of your artwork in a lush room, with custom framing, this is the app for you.

$$ Free and Paid

Canvy

What it can do:

Room Mockups, Custom Framing, Exports to Etsy, Artwork Manager

Why I love it:

Canvy can be used from any device, whether desktop, android or iPhone. The Free Version comes with 13+ different rooms (300+ with Paid version) to choose from to showcase your art. You can also create custom framing for your artwork to match your aesthetic. Additionally, like ArtRooms, you can scale your artwork appropriately to give customers a better idea of what your work might look like in their homes, which may lead to more sales!

I think that about wraps it up for now.
